The so-called “full-house” immunofluorescent staining pattern carried out as the gold-standard clinical testing in lupus nephritis biopsies with colocalization of IgG, IgM, IgA, C1q, and C3 (C4) is almost solely seen in lupus nephritis (Gianviti et al. 1999) in contrast to other glomerular kidney diseases (Fig. 2a-d, e). The gene discussed is C4A; the disease is lupus nephritis.
