To validate the role of DUSP16 in cisplatin-mediated responses, we performed knockdown of DUSP16 using the CRISPR/Cas9 system in undifferentiated NPC C666-1 cells which express higher levels of DUSP16 and are more resistant to cisplatin-mediated apoptosis compared to HK-1 cells (Fig. 1). Here, DUSP16 is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
