CD69 and COVID-19: In addition, the observation that about 50% of CD103+ NK cells and one-third of circulating CD103+CD69+ NK cells coexpress CXCR6, which is a chemokine receptor associated to tissue residency, (Fig 3F), confirms that there is a panel of antigen expression in COVID-19 patients that is in line with a significant and unusual circulation and trafficking of tissue-resident NK cells.
