HDAC1 and hematopoietic and lymphoid cell neoplasm: To date suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA, Vorinostat), a nonselective global HDAC inhibitor, and Romidepsin (Istodax, FK228), characterized by a relatively low IC50 for HDAC1 and HDAC2 (HDAC1/2), have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the U.S. for treatment of hematologic cancers.
