VEGFA and Abnormal retinal morphology: When we intravitreally injected a VEGF-trap, which is currently being used for treating neovascular retinal disease, we found that it also significantly inhibited VEGF induced vascular leakage in our mouse model, and the effect of retro-orbital injection of EXOKV11 was comparable with the effect of intravitreal injection of the VEGF-trap (EXOKV11 50.71% ± 7.18% reduction vs. VEGF-trap 53.09% ± 8.62% reduction) (Figure 5B,C and Figure S5A,B).
