ALB and COVID-19: Recognizing the interconnections among overall health, nutritional status, inflammation, and the immune response, we hypothesized that after accounting for community burden of COVID-19, patients with laboratory surrogates of more robust health status (i.e., higher serum concentrations of albumin, creatinine, and hemoglobin) would more likely have survived a SARS-CoV-2 infection and mounted an antibody response than patients with less robust health status.
