GLIPR1 and glioblastoma: Whilst in glioblastoma and some other tumors (including Wilm’s tumor, acute myeloid leukemia, invasive melanoma) GliPR1 is overexpressed and appears to be an oncoprotein that enhances proliferation [8–11], in other tumors (including prostate, lung and bladder cancers, sarcoma, multiple myeloma) it appears to be a tumor suppressor and to induce apoptosis [12–21].
