Consistent with the systemic data, we demonstrated that both SC (IIH 8.3 ± 1.6 vs. controls 2.4 ± 0.4 ng/mL/100 mg; Welch’s t test; t11.47 = 3.6; P = 0.0039, Figure 5A) and OM (IIH 2.9 ± 0.8 vs. controls 0.6 ± 0.1 ng/mL/100 mg; Welch’s t test; t9.276 = 2.917; P = 0.016, Figure 5B) adipose tissue from IIH patients secreted more leptin compared with BMI-matched controls.
