Although there is tentative data suggesting that in some tumor cells both STAT1 and STAT3 post-transcriptional regulation are stimulated by ROS46, and specifically STAT3 phosphorylation can be activated47, there is insufficient data regarding colon cancer STAT1/3 ROS regulation, and this may be a good direction for further study as it could contribute to elucidate the role of ROS in CRC, and potentially clarify the controversial role of antioxidants in cancer treatment. Here, STAT3 is linked to colonic neoplasm.
