Our findings, showing higher PD-1 expression levels in the immune cells in the tumor areas containing HLA-DR+ melanoma cells in addition to higher PD-L1 expression in the HLA-DR+ melanoma cells themselves, highlight a similar PD-1/PD-L1 proximity, potentially driven by HLA-DR expression in the melanoma cells that could explain the predictive potential of the expression of HLA-DR. The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is neoplasm.
