The expression level of ZHX2 was increased in cholangiocarcinoma, esophageal carcinoma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma‐HPV pos, kidney renal clear cell carcinoma, kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma, liver hepatocellular carcinoma, skin cutaneous melanoma‐metastasis, stomach adenocarcinoma and thyroid carcinoma, whereas there was a decrease of ZHX2 expression levels in bladder urothelial carcinoma, kidney chromophobe, lung adenocarcinoma, lung squamous cell carcinoma and uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (Fig. 1A). This evidence concerns the gene ZHX2 and squamous cell lung carcinoma.
