Considering the CD-induced alteration of several ESR1 target genes involved in immune response (interleukin enhancer-binding factor 2 [ILF2], CD53 molecule [CD53], and calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV [CAMK4]) in our ChIP-seq data (Table S1), it is conceivable that developmental exposure to CD could alter the sensitivity to infections. Here, CD53 is linked to infection.
