The present study found that allele C at APOA5–1131 T > C was a risk factor for hyperlipidemia, the A allele at AI-75 bp conferred susceptibility to hyperlipidemia, the T allele at APOB Xba I represents a preliminary pathogenic factor for hyperlipidemia in Caucasians, allele ε4 of the APOE gene is a risk factor for hyperlipidemia, and allele ε2 is a risk factor for hyperlipidemia in Asians. Here, APOB is linked to hyperlipidemia.
