Our hypothesis is supported by previous studies that show that the loss of ELF4 causes a profound abrogation in BCR-ABL associated Chronic Myeloid Leukemia [20] and the direct interaction between the Promyelocytic Leukemia (PML) gene and ELF4 [55]. The gene discussed is ABL1; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
