Although its IGF binding ability is lower than that of full-length IGFBPs, the IGFBP domain of CCN3 reduces activation of IGF1-IGF1R signaling in inflammatory breast cancer, and downregulation of CCN6 enhances the effects of IGF1 on growth, motility, and invasiveness (Kleer et al., 2004; Zhang et al., 2005). This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and inflammatory breast carcinoma.
