It is well recognized that the aging process hampers the host’s ability to develop robust and effective immune response.12,13 Studies have identified differential expression of several receptors on neutrophils from elderly adults as well as distinct activation patterns that were associated with Candida-related denture stomatitis.14,15 Since alterations in FcγRs and CD11b expression might contribute to immunosenescence and age-related diseases, we aimed at investigating if age affects FcγRII, FcγRIII, FcγRI, and CD11b expression on human and murine neutrophils.
