As expected, compared with the controls, the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and the levels of FBG, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), uric acid, TG, total cholesterol (TC), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) were all higher (all P < 0.01), and the HDL-c level was lower in the NAFLD group (P < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene GPT and metabolic syndrome.
