Differentially acetylated peaks were observed in genomic regions associated with both tau and amyloid neuropathology and genes harbouring variants associated with AD neuropathology, for example, APP, PSEN1, PSEN2 and MAPT. Similarly, Klein et al. profiled acetylation of H3K9 (H3K9ac) in a large cohort of 669 individuals, identifying a number of altered regions with respect to Aβ or tau protein burden [22].
