Hyperglycemia was an independent predictor of a high leucocyte count (>10 × 109/L) (OR 4.26, 95% CI 1.65-10.97; P = 0.003), NLR (>5) (OR 2.76, 95% CI 1.24-6.10; P = 0.013), and CRP level (>15 mg/L) (OR 2.49, 95% CI 1.19-5.23; P = 0.016) in patients with COVID-19 after adjustment for age, sex, BMI, severity of illness, and a known history of diabetes.
