Short sleep duration (<6 h) decreased Hb level (β = −0.02, 95% CI −0.03, −0.01, p < 0.05) and increased WBC count (β = 0.28, 95% CI 0.03, 0.53, p < 0.05) compared to normal sleep duration (6–8 h), while long sleep duration (>8 h) did not show any significant associations with anemia or inflammation-related biomarkers. This evidence concerns the gene GSTM1 and anemia.
