Some studies show that there is a significant overexpression of MCT1, MCT2, and MCT4 in some cancers, e.g., MCT4 in adrenocortical cancer, MCT1 and MCT 4 in cervix cancer, MCT1 and MCT 2 in brain cancer as adaptation strategy [70,71,72,73]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC16A4 and cervical cancer.
