Active HIF1 regulates the transcription of many genes such as TF (transferrin), HK2 (hexokinase 2), JMD1A (Jumonji domain-containing), CDH (cadherin), GLUT1, ALDO-C, LDH-A, PKM2, anhydrase carbonic IX (CAIX), ENO3,2, and PFKFB4 [60,61,62] that code for cancer-related proteins such as angiogenesis [63], genetic instability [64], invasion and metastasis [65,66], proliferation, glucose metabolism, and pH regulation [67,68,69]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC2A1 and cancer.
