SLC16A1 and lung cancer: Small inhibitory molecule treatment such as 2-deoxyglucose (2-DG) and lonidamine for inhibition of HK2, 3-bromopyruvate (3-BP) for inhibition of GAPDH, dichloroacetate (DCA) for inhibition of PDK, and AZD3965 for inhibition of monocarboxylate transporter (MCT1, encoded by SLC16A1) resulted in reduced migration or metastasis of antioxidant-treated lung cancer cells.
