NFKB1 and viral infectious disease: The first part of this review is focused on the role of intracellular GSH in: (i) redox-dependent cell signaling pathways, in particular the ones mediated by NF-kB, which can be considered the joining link between the viral replication and the cell response to contrast viral infection; (ii) redox-regulated enzymes involved in the folding and maturation of viral proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
