In a study by Valea et al., among 100 women diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, obesity was found in 32% [15], while in a study by Szwajkosz et al., obesity was found in 39.6% of patients diagnosed with hypothyroidism [16].In a study by Koszowska et al., which included patients with autoimmune thyroiditis, it was shown that despite euthyreosis (normal levels of thyroid hormones and TSH), 82% of the patients had excess body weight, of whom 35% were obese [3], while 50% had an increased risk of metabolic disorders resulting from excessive amounts of body fat. Here, TG is linked to metabolic disease.
