The selective action of dendrimers has been used in the treatment of leishmaniasis and toxoplasmosis to reduce the toxicity associated with amphotericin B. Dendrimers were developed as a carrier of vaccines for the administration of vaccines for the prevention of schistosomiasis infection characterized by the IgG2a antibody response with increased IL-2 production and IFN-γ in vivo. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is toxoplasmosis.
