These results suggest that the inhibitory effect of CBD on NOX2 activity could be associated to a direct inhibitory effect on this protein or inducing structural changes in the membrane that prevent the binding of NOX2 subunits (p47phox and p40phox) necessary for its normal function, as was described for chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) [47].
