Recently, it has been demonstrated that TNIP3 (TNFAIP3 Interacting Protein 3) is a new inhibitor of Non-Alcoholic-Steato-Hepatitis (NASH); TNIP3, in response to metabolic hepatic stresses, binds to TAK1 and inhibits its ubiquitination and activation mediated by TRIM8 (Figure 3) [68]. The gene discussed is TNIP3; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
