Taken together, upregulation of miR-149 could reverse the 5-FU resistance of CRC cells by inhibiting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway due to controlling FOXM1, thus targeting the miR-149/FOXM1 axis may be a promising therapeutic strategy for 5-FU-resistant CRC patients [220].
