The correlation of the decreased percentage of leukemic cells containing Y705 phospho-STAT3 (Figure 5a) and the decreased expression of Nanog, Oct4, Sox2 and c-Myc (Figure 5b) after treatment with MBS or IBS mRNA is in line with a previous report that found inhibited phosphorylation of Stat3 decreased the expression of Oct-4 and c-Myc in breast cancer cells [16].
