CD8A and graft versus host disease: Zanotti et al. also studied the immune-regulatory capacity of alginate encapsulated MSCs in murine GvHD model and found that intravenously injected MSCs could reduce the proliferation of both CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and ameliorated the infiltration of immune cells in the liver, leading to the overall enhancement in the clinical score and survival of GvHD mouse [147].
