The immunohistochemical analysis of human CRC tissue also indicated that PLOD2 expression (in some cases) can be detected in the stromal compartment of the tumor (Figure 6C,F), supporting the important role of increased PLOD2 expression in the tumor microenvironment where collagen assembly plays a critical role in shaping the ECM for enhanced tumor cell migration/invasion. Here, PLOD2 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
