The qPCR data reveal that in the case of IL-1β, the serotypes a (p < 0.0001), b (p = 0.0041) and c (p = 0.0108) induced a statistically significant overexpression with respect to the non-infected condition at two hours; similarly, at 24 h of infection by the serotype a (p = 0.0003), b (p < 0.0001) and c (p = 0.005) respect to the non-infected control.
