In relation to pregnancy pathologies, we have demonstrated that EG-VEGF and its receptors are increased in the most threatening pathology of pregnancy, preeclampsia (PE) as well as, fetal growth restriction (FGR), and recently in gestational choriocarcinoma [26,27,28,29,30,31,32], suggesting that the antagonization of EG-VEGF signaling may constitute a therapeutic promise in pregnancy pathologies. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is gestational choriocarcinoma.
