A multiplexed magnetic nanoparticle-antibody conjugates (MNPs-Abs) based fluorescence spectroscopic system analysis combining CA125, β2-M and ApoA1 for the early detection of ovarian cancer performed by Pal et al. found that while CA125 detection only identifies 50–60% of early stage ovarian cancer, the combination of the three biomarkers achieved high sensitivity (94%) and high specificity (98%) in distinguishing early stage ovarian cancer patients from healthy individuals [98]. Here, APOA1 is linked to ovarian cancer.
