AQP4 antibody and concomitant HSV-1 and HSV-1 infections have been associated with myeloradiculitis and encephalopathy; consequently AQP4 antibody test could be routinely used for HSV infection-mediated encephalopathy or neuromyelitis optica and autoimmune AQP4 channelopathy (Marin Collazo et al., 2018; Peng et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene AQP4 and neuromyelitis optica.
