Vitiligo is considered to be an autoimmune disease because cytokines such as (IFN)-γ, IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10 are overexpressed in lesions, and activated CD8 + T lymphocytes, TH17, and other immune cells are significantly aggregated in the lesion area (16–19). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is autoimmune disease.
