Taken together, the findings in this study demonstrated that L. rhinocerotis extract significantly attenuated IgE, Th2 cytokines, leukocyte infiltration and mucus producing goblet cells in the lung epithelium, alleviated airway hyperresponsiveness and down-regulated selected genes which are important in the regulation of allergy asthma. The gene discussed is IGHE; the disease is allergic asthma.
