CRP and necrotizing enterocolitis: A serum CRP/ALB ratio of ≥ 3 on day 2 of NEC diagnosis had the highest predictive value for mortality with a sensitivity of 73.9% (95% CI 53.3–87.5), specificity of 71.3% (95% CI 63.2–78.3) and AUC of 0.66 (0.54–0.77); p = 0.0150 (Fig. 1b).
