Growth arrest-specific transcript 5 was reported to play a very important role in tumors, and it can inhibit migration and invasion of gastric cancer via interacting with p53 protein (Liu et al., 2020), and it can also regulate the expression of p21 to enhance G1 cell cycle arrest through binding to Y-box binding protein 1 (Liu et al., 2015).
