Diagnosis of B ALL is based on lineage assignment (A strong CD19 plus strong expression of at least one of CD79a, cCD22, CD10 or weak CD19 plus strong expression of at least two of CD79a, cCD22, CD10) and expression of immaturity markers by the atypical cell population (Chiaretti et al., 2014). The gene discussed is CD79A; the disease is acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
