Compared with the non-MetS group, men and women with MetS had higher blood pressure; higher levels of fasting plasma glucose, fasting insulin, and triglycerides (TGs); lower levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C); elevated homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR); and higher BMI, WHR, WC, NC and PWNC (all P < 0.01). This evidence concerns the gene INS and metabolic syndrome.
