As COMMD1 is a suppressor of both the NF-κB and HIF pathways which are transcriptional regulator of inflammation that plays an important role in oncogenesis, it is not surprising that COMMD1 expression has been correlated with patients’ survival in these different types of cancer (9). In colorectal cancer cells, COMMD10 also targets NF-κB (p65 subunit) and reduced its nuclear translocation, thereby leading to the inactivation of NF-κB pathway and cancer cells invasion and metastasis (23). The gene discussed is COMMD1; the disease is cancer.
