Among the well-known TGFβ family members (TGFβ1, TGFβ2, and TGFβ3), CRC patients are more likely to show recurrence bearing high levels of TGFβ1, which regulates a number of biological processes such as CRC cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, extracellular matrix adhesion and immune response 16,26,27,32. Here, TGFB1 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
