AKT1 and glioblastoma: To determine if nanocells can deliver therapeutic amounts of miR-34a to orthotopic implanted glioblastoma tumors, nanocells were injected intravenously and levels of cMet mRNA and phospho-Akt—which we showed are reduced by successful miR-34a transfection in vitro—were used to assess in vivo miR-34a delivery by nanocells.
