More and more studies have found that some oncogenes significantly affect the tumor immune microenvironment, including infiltration of B cell, CD8+ T cell, CD4+ T cell, Macrophage, Neutrophil, Dendritic cell, etc. The HOXA1 expression in the TIMER database is associated with a decrease of B cell / CD8+T cell infiltration and an increase of CD4+ T cell infiltration in total HNSCC patients, a reduction of B cell and CD8+T cell infiltration in HPV(+) HNSCC patients, and a decrease of CD8+T cell infiltration and an increase of CD4+ T cell infiltration in HPV(−) HNSCC patients (Figures 9A–C). This evidence concerns the gene HOXA1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
