CDCP1 and cancer: More recently, a study used quantitative surface proteomics to reveal proteins upregulated on human cancer cells transformed with KRASG12V, and found that antibodies targeting the CUB domain-containing protein 1 (CDCP1), a single-pass transmembrane protein highly overexpressed in a diverse range of human cancers, could be used to deliver cytotoxic and immunotherapeutic payloads to RAS-transformed cancer cells in vivo6,7.
