TCGA data also demonstrated that up to 40% of type II EC tumours are associated with heterozygous missense mutations in PPP2R1A, an established tumour suppressor gene encoding the Aα subunit of PP2A (Protein Phosphatase 2A), one of the major cellular serine–threonine phosphatases, involved in the regulation of PI3K/AKT pathway (Kuo et al. 2008; Remmerie and Janssens 2019). The gene discussed is PIK3CA; the disease is neoplasm.
