CYP27A1 and familial hypercholesterolemia: As expected, the mRNA and protein levels of CYP7B1, CYP8B1 and CYP27A1 were higher, while the protein levels of MAFG were lower in LivKI mice than those in Floxed mice under CCHFD diet (Figure 6M-N), suggesting that liver-specific overexpression of miR-378 could prevent mice from diet-induced hypercholesterolemia by promoting the BA synthesis and hepatic miR-378 might serve as a potential target for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia.
