As suggested, the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) in ovaries and angiotensin (Ang)-II and Ang [1–7] facilitate follicle development, steroid secretion, oocyte maturation, and follicle atresia, as well as steroidogenesis and ovulation [12, 13], which justifies the association of ovarian ACE2 malfunction with reproductive disorders, like polycystic ovary syndrome and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome [14], uterine leiomyoma [15], as well as endometriotic lesions [16, 17]. The gene discussed is ACE2; the disease is uterine corpus leiomyoma.
